Barneys 'Recession' Sale.

Just a little note.

The Barney's sale is a-mazing. At least the recession has provided more equal access to fashion ;).

I picked up the most beautiful Lanvin boots from Fall 08 (remember those highly coveted flat ones that LL and Nicole Ritchie were sporting?).

Sign. Heaven.

Get thee to Barney's. And, hey--just think of it as a safer investment in these trying times. Ha.

Now we're off to Paris!

Two great boutique hotels:

Hotel Montalembert

"Interior designers go ga-ga. Writers and their agents love it for lunch. It's neither Seventh Arrondissement baroque-ornate-stuffy, nor is it one of those faded, low-ceilinged haunts so prevalent in the Latin Quarter. Located just off the Boulevard St Germain, the Montalembert manages to be timeless, fashionista, high-tech, and Left Bank — all at the same time. It's the perfect place to be spotted with your BlackBerry and your best black, drinking sherry and reading Simone de Beauvoir. Needless to say, during fashion week, while the models are eating strawberries at Hotel Costes, their editors are at the Montalembert comparing notes. Since it first opened in 1929, the Montalembert has been a hot spot for the Parisian literati. Thanks to Grace Leo-Andrieu and Francois Champsaur, the hotel has changed—better food, better décor—but the crowd has not. "

and Hotel Mayet

"In this case we’re not talking about the kind of haute-luxury minimalism that fills the pages of the interior design magazines. The Mayet is perhaps brighter, more cheerful, more colorful and eclectic than what we’re used to seeing; there are options around Paris if you’d like to stay somewhere more sober and grown-up, and pay twice as much while you’re at it. From the lobby, bedecked with graffiti by a local Parisian artist, you know what you’re in for. Cheaper and a very fun modern vibe."

Enjoy!!

Monday

Great Shoe Sample Sale

Now this sale is always majorly crowded and there are plenty of duds amongst the hidden gems, but it is most worth it for the great staple boots and shoes you can find, especially boots. I frequent this sale every year and always manage to find fantastic Italian boots and heels at crazy cheap prices. The trick is that as the sale peters out (the last 2 days) the prices drop. So by the last day you can find incredible Italian boots and Frye's and Ugg's for less than 50$ a pair. They also usually have a great selection of Marc Jacobs styles which we all love!

Happy Hunting!

Welcome back from the holiday bliss and chaos!
