Great Shoe Sample Sale

Now this sale is always majorly crowded and there are plenty of duds amongst the hidden gems, but it is most worth it for the great staple boots and shoes you can find, especially boots. I frequent this sale every year and always manage to find fantastic Italian boots and heels at crazy cheap prices. The trick is that as the sale peters out (the last 2 days) the prices drop. So by the last day you can find incredible Italian boots and Frye's and Ugg's for less than 50$ a pair. They also usually have a great selection of Marc Jacobs styles which we all love!

Happy Hunting!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back from the holiday bliss and chaos!

The holiday had lulled us into a eggnog and shopping coma but we have returned.

The weather here in the city has turned wonderfully warm for the next few days which is putting us all in good mood.

I hope your holidays were wonderful and 2008 is even better.

Hanky Panky Sample Sale: Get Your Thong On!

Everyone's favourite everyday lingerie Hanky Panky (or at least all the girls in the know!) is having a sample sale. Apologies for the late notice, I was too busy fighting in with the masses for my share :)!

You've still got 2 days to pick up some new pieces.

All bottoms are 10$ each including their low-rise thong, a perpetual favorite for good reason (it allows us to still wear underwear with the impossibly low-er trend of jeans...) and they have cami's for 15-20$ as well as an assortment of other accoutrement's.

Be careful girls, its wild in there!

Gossip Girl Back on Track.

Ok, for a while there, my interest had been waning, but last nights episode was gooooooood. I'm back in.

We all love a little old-fashioned class war drama.

And how hot were those final scenes between Nate and Blair????

XOXO,
BG

French Fashion Focus

I have been meaning to mention that FIAF is focusing on fashion this month (other than the fashionable crowd that routinely attends their functions). Besides featuring wonderful french films of Fashion Icons at their Tuesday Cinema screenings they also have three fashion talks with: Véronique Nichanian of Hermès, Bruno Frisoni of Roger Vivier, and Olivier Theyskens of Nina Ricci. I attended the Hermes talk and it was great, get your tickets now.

I highly recommend!

I recently saw:

And God Created Woman (Et Dieu créa la femme)

Roger Vadim, 1957.
With Brigitte Bardot, Jean-Louis Trintignant
Color. 100 min. In French with English subtitles.

and it was so so wonderful. If you haven't yet seen it, do!

Go.

Gossip Girl Premiere

Soooooooooooo?

What did you all think?

Was there enough drama and cattiness for you? Do you love that a gossip blog is the main fodder of a hot T.V. show? How great is the styling?

What about the cameos? Bendel's much? Love that this is filmed here in NYC!

Love it!!!

P.S. How hot did S look in that gold dress. Very Sienna.

P.P.S. To see a good portion of the show, check in here.

NY Fashion Week and the High Holiday Debate. G-D Wins!

Oh and speaking of NY Fashion week, I had been meaning to post this, one of the myriad reasons I love NY. Came across this upon my return from vay-cay, yay for being back in town!

In case you missed the raging scheduling debate that occurred after last years fiasco with Paris Fashion Week being scheduled on top of the High Holidays (only the most religious holy days for Jews), here's a little primer.

Now, the biggest question remains? What am I going to do for the High Holidays??

Ciao, Dahlings.

Cool Opening Tonight at Clarabella on the LES!

BUILDINGS by SHAUN KARDINAL

New to the Lower East Side art scene, boutique/gallery CLARABELLA is pleased to present BUILDINGS, the inaugural New York City exhibit from Seattle based photographer, Shaun Kardinal. Photographing rooftops has been a hobby of the artist's for many years. Though an avid digital artist in his teens, it was not until his twenty-third year with an antique medium-format camera in hand that Kardinal developed an absolute passion for the subject. It was the way the buildings looked as he gazed through the viewfinder, playing with the vibrancy of Seattle's sunsets, the richness of her summers, the austere dullness of her grey winters. It was a love affair with a new city encouraging familiarity, ushering these monoliths in as kin, good friends, integral parts of Kardinal's daily walks to and from work. In this way, his photographs are meant to be seen as intimate portraits.

These buildings, at once solitary and full of life, seem to play with and against each other: three skyscrapers playfully fall against one another; an isolated wall dares to stand alone; a telephone pole bisects a brick building, while sagging lines tease its rooftop; four more in four corners, never to embrace; another still, reflects on the day as the sun plays its final notes on a bright pink sky.

Clarabella, 279 E. Houston Street (between Clinton and Suffolk) NY, NY 10002

Showing from June 1 – July 31

Reception: June 28, 2007 from 7 – 9pm

Gallery Hours: Tues – Sat 12-8pm, Sun 12-7pm

P.S.
Hope to see you there! I am juggling a few events tonight...but I'm hoping to make it!

Georgia Rule? Well...Lindsay Lohans wardrobe certainly rocks!

P.S.

I watched Georgia Rule today. What else to do in the Montreal rain? (Have I mentioned its been raining ALL week?) Anyway: unlike some who have dissed LaLohan and the movie, I loved it. Besides Lindsay's wonderfully covetable wardrobe (amazing skinny jeans, flow-y white tops, great wedges, to die-for sunglasses, etc)...I was drooling half the movie...I think it was a good performance....and a good movie. I really enjoyed it. Judge for yourself. The perfect opportunity? Well, the 93 degree weather I left behind in NYC or the cold dreary rain of Montreal!

Escape to the movies. Covet Lindsay's clothes.

Barneys Summer Sale

Umm, it's hard to write about this, since I am in Montreal and its rainy and cold-ish. Not summer at all. I totally mis-packed and neeeeeeed Barneys. Anyway. Hello: wardrobe change!
