Hamptons Antiques Show

OMG, I'm dying. I soooo wish I could be there for this. Hello Georg Jensen silver jewelry. Have I mentioned I'm dying. In case it has been missed I am insane for old stuff. Love the hunt, adore the sweet success of "the find", scoring the "goods". Can you tell I am missing NYC yet, my hunting grounds?

TaTa Dahlings!

PS Back in NYC late next week, so regular posting should resume!

More Info on the show:

Beautiful, sophisticated, chic, charming – all describe this highly-anticipated three-day event opening at noon on Friday, June 22nd in the heart of Bridgehampton. The three-day show takes place in high-peaked white tents on the lawn of the historic Corwith House at the Bridgehampton Historical Society on Montauk Highway.

Cutting-edge exhibitors offer modern (like the dining set from Mode Moderne pictured above), formal & early continental furniture, hard-to-find garden antiques (like the Mexican mahogony table & chairs from Bridges Over Time) , paintings (like the Richard Wengenroth from Larry Sirolli Fine Art) & sculpture, folk art, and exquisite fine and vintage jewelry.

The June Hamptons show will feature an exceptional selection of art from outsiders to posters to impressionists. Paul Manning will be set up near the entrance with stunningly restored high power WWII binoculars. The Druckers will be showing exquisite silver, specializing in Jensen. Americana is well represented by Bird in Hand, Susan Parrish and others. James Butterworth is showing period wicker. There will be Art Deco, midcentury modern, industrial design and sublime style on view by Skyscraper/ Catwalk Couture, XX Century, Needful Things, Glen Leroux Collections, Lowstudio and so many more.

Show hours are Friday 12 Noon to 7:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $8.

The Scoop on a New Boutique Set to Open May 1st on the LES: Clarabella

Hey gals,

Just got the scoop on a new boutique set to open this Tuesday, May 1st. Erin Whelan who founded Clarabella, left a career in the music industry to unveil the store named in honour of her grandmother. "My hope is to create a space that draws as much attention to the designer as the product," says Whelan, who, through classes in book-binding, shoe-making, and jewelry
design, has become fascinated with process and design. The store will feature jewelry, accessories, and shoes in a gallery setting.

Keeping with the gallery theme, Clarabella will feature different
designers throughout the year. Some of the store's initial offerings will include:

Jewelry: Angelica Bergamini, Beth Lauren, By Boe, BB Designs, Carla Caruso, Devon Driscoll, Gypsy Born Designs, Judith Haas, Leoworks, Tamaura, and Zoe Chicco

Accessories: Andrea Brueckner, Brave Leather, Carla Beeby London, Crystalyn Kae, Kristin Aronsson, Modus/Basically Brazil, Nam Kim, and Tracy Tanner

Shoes: Mariana, Marcello Toshi Creazioni, and Tashkent by Cheyenne.

The store will also have space to highlight works by up-and-coming photographers and painters. The debut art exhibit features works by New York City poet and artist Seldon Yuan (showing through May 14). For the Grand Opening in late May, Clarabella will feature photographs and drawings highlighting projects by Oisin Clancy and Marc Ackerson, the architects who worked closely with Whelan to design the store's interior.

From the photos it looks like she's got some pretty cool jewelry offerings. Definitely worth checking out!

My favorite source for vintage Chanel

I Love Resurrection. They have the most fabulous collection of vintage everything, but they are my most favorite and reliable source for vintage Chanel handbags and jewelry. If you haven't checked out their Nolita boutique, do. And after stop at one of my very favorite spots for lunch, Cafe Gitane, it's just a half block up the street!

Oh and I scored an amazing collection of vintage 80's jewelry last week, a few Chanel pieces, Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino and Christan Lacroix. I'll post this week!!!! I am SO excited.

Chanel Spring-Summer 2007 Accessories

I came across this black bucket/hobo bag from Chanel that I am totally obsessed with, unfortunately I can't seem to find a photo for you...If you view the Chanel website under 'Spring-Summer 2007 Act2', its no. 14. The bag below is quite similar. In lieu of that delivery I have put together a showcase of everything else that I love from spring/summer 2007 in accessories. I just adore Chanel's costume jewelry, it is absolutely SO fun and classy at the same time (and I might add highly collectible). Below find my favorites from the Ready to Wear show last fall in Paris....now that they are just becoming available in store...perfect timing:
