TIGHTS, TIGHTS, TIGHTS!!

Wolford Satin Opaque 50 tights. These are wonderful with a bit of sexy shimmer and come in six great colors, navy and anthracite being my personal favourites!

Wolford Velvet De Luxe 66. The perfect absolutely matte tight in black.

Wolford Mat Opaque 80 tights. For some variety in matte tights, these come in five colors, isn't the fuchsia-like 'India' exciting!!

P.S. If you are looking for Wolford tights in the US, they can be found at nearly every high-end department store, boutique, and lingerie shops as well as these free-standing locations.

THE SWING COAT
Bottega Veneta Swing Coat. Ummm, this is buttery luscious and something to bring a little light to the black-heavy fall and winter collections (but, hey I'm not complaining!!).


Alexander McQueen Cashmere Swing Coat. A shorter swing in a traditional black. LOVE IT!!! I have a very similar vintage French one from the 50's and I can't tell you how wonderful it is. If the prices of these jackets scare you, look for similar pieces from the 40's and 50's at a higher end vintage store or show. They are easily found and much, much cheaper! Happy hunting.

Love it!: Chloe's New Fall Collection

In his first collection as the new designer for Chloe, I think that Paulo Menim Andersson did a great job (though I know many seem to be pining for old Chloe's more 'flow-y' look)....of course this is coming from a girl who loves dark colors and simple shapes.

Love the colors (olive brown, to-die-for), love the cuts and drape, love the simplicity. These are wonderfully wearable pieces to build upon....classics!

Thoughts? And what of designers taking a label in a new direction. This seems to be heralded sometimes, often lamented by others (Isn't change good?) who want labels to have a certain sense of continuity or in some cases downright scorned upon (think Marc Jacobs in the 90's with the grunge Perry Ellis collection for which he was fired--of course we all know how this turned out).

I think like anything its about balance.

Betsey Johnson: Affordable, Fun, Flirty. Prom, Formals, Banquet, Whenever!

So listen, I know a lot of what I post is quite expensive, and as I have said before, quality isn't cheap, and you have to think of great pieces as an investment, and inspiration is key, etc. etc. yadda, yadda. In honour of all that, I wanted to post some great pieces that are not so expensive but still totally fun and cut well. Design and quality are key with me. This is where Betsey Johnson comes in. What's not to love about this crazy awesome chick. She was one of my favorite designers when I was 10 along with Sonia Rykiel, and she has remained my fun-flirty dress go-to since then. You just feel so fun and alive and kind of like anything totally out-of-the-blue exciting could happen when you don one of her frocks. Have fun with clothes girls, you only live once!

Leather Polly Heel.
These are chic and super sexy. Not often that you get that plus comfortable. So worth it. They come in all sorts of colors and materials, Every year they seem to make more options in this style. They are so sexy and trust me (I own them in gold sparkle) completely comfortable. I wore them for one of the biggest nights of my life and they were like walking on air, good design and nice padding in the shoe (important if you will be dancing the night away). I bought them for a formal event and ended up wearing them the next day with jeans, and on it went. BTW, I know they look a little scary, but take my word for it, try them on, you will be surprised, they look maybe a bit trampy on the shelf, but not so when on the foot. Hey, and did I mention they are comfortable?

Jalia Heel.
These would look so hot with any of the formal dresses. Very Louboutin. Classy/Sexy.
