Chloe's take on the High-Waist.: LOVE IT!

Continuing on in the theme of the High-Waist pant, I couldn't resist posting items from Chloe's new Spring/Summer line which prominently features the high waist. I think these are beautiful outfits and really give you a feel for how you could put together tops and bottoms with the higher waist.

P.S. I LOVE this whole collection, seriously I want it all. I don't think I've ever been this enthusiastic about one 'whole' collection.

Below, other 'high-waisted' pieces from SS07:

Louis Vuitton 'Monogram Groom' Collection

Totally cute!

The 'Monogram Groom' Collection. Inspired by a 1920's Louis Vuitton Advertisement. For a look at the ad that inspired it all, click here. They are screen-printed in the traditional Louis Vuitton Truck colours; blue, red, cream white, off-white, yellow, green, and orange. This is a limited edition offering, so they may not be in stores much longer (but are available at Eluxury.com for sure)...I remember seeing pieces at Saks in the Fall. And, yes I know its a bit late to be posting about this collection...but its still around...and a little birdie wanted me to showcase it!

Pochette Cles (Key and Change Holder). Sunny Yellow interior. $200.

Porte Monnaie Rond (Round Coin Purse). $245. Can also be used as a bag charm.
Compact Zipped Wallet. $540. Bright blue interior.

Also in the collection: the Agenda, Zippy Organizer, and Pochette Wallet.

These are such fun and classic additions to spice up your everyday bag. Imagine reaching in to get your wallet/subway card holder/change purse only to come upon this sweet design. Such a cheerful surprise. I have the cerise's (see pattern below) Pochette Cles and Sac Plat...and its so delightful!

Wolford Polar Tights

So despite the fact that we got two beautiful glimpses of spring in last weekend, today is apparently the coldest day since 1901. Time to pull out my winter dress wardrobe secret. Wolford's Polar tights. These are amazing. They are warm and totally elegant and beautifully made. They make it possible to wear dresses and skirts in the winter cold and still be toasty. Beauty and warmth! I couldn't live without these. Now I share the secret with you.

Another fun way to warm it up, is to wear boots with your dress and over the polar tights layer a very simple but beautifully knitted sock, preferably in black, muted gray, something subtle and elegant that peeks out just over the boot. This looks cool and keeps you warm.

So get out there and wear those dresses!!

Get it here or at Wolford boutique near you, or at most fine department stores. I know they carry them at BG, Jeffrey, Saks, Barneys, etc.

Creed...the Caribbean, and Natalie Wood

So at BG the other day (yes AGAIN....)...and had the chance to sample the newest fragrance from Creed; 'Virgin Island Water' . It's the perfect summer perfume, a mix of coconut, lime, bergamot, jasmine, and a little white rum. Delicious, refreshing, you have to smell it to believe it, but it really feels like you are in the Caribbean. Its so light and uplifting....This is going to be my summer smell!!! Can you tell I can't wait for this cold weather to leave? Oh and I forgot the best part, a portion of the sales go towards charities that protect the Oceans!

So, I have been on the search for a new fragrance for over 6 months now, I had tried some of the Creed perfumes in the fall upon the recommendation that they used very little if any synthetic components and in the end got a bit overwhelmed by how many there were...but now that I have had some time to reflect and go back again and smell just those that had appealed to me, I believe I have found the one......TADA: Jasmal. One of their older fragrances, it was created in the late 50's for Natalie Wood. This is such a beautiful warm sensual perfume. I am so excited to bring it into my life. And who better to share a scent with than Natalie?

You can purchase Creed in NYC at Jeffrey, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks. The 'Virgin Island Water' is exclusive to BG though.

Friday

Roger Vivier opens on Madison Ave

Finally.

Roger Vivier opened thier new flagship store in NYC last week. The gorgrous classic square-toe buckle flats which the equally lovely Catherine Denvue made famous in 'Belle du Jour' can be found there. Exhibit A:

The boutique also features small leather goods, the new handbag line and sunglasses as well as lots of different shoe styles.

We can get our lovely flat fix without having to go to awful Saks (well at least here in NYC). Have I mentioned my loathe for Saks Fifth Avenue? Where to start? The pushy over-bearing cosmetics sales people, I swear it's like a video game trying to fight them off just to get to the rest of the store, and YES unfortunately I know of no way to avoid them, there is only one way to enter and its by having to walk through that first floor swatting them off (no matter which door you choose). Arghh. Anyway.

The new boutique was designed by cult French jeweler Herve van der Straeten, and has a very artistic, calm vibe. A glimpse into the lovely and serene (no crazy sales people here) new store freshly opened on the Upper East Side:
