Jessica Simpson Shines Last Weekend in Hollywood

Jessica Simpson this past weekend in Hollywood, dinner with Ken Paves. Jess is looking soooo much better than recent pics in the last few weeks. Not sure I like the dress that much, but her hair looks great, and the smoky eyes and pinky/pale lipstick are a total hit. The color seems to be a bit lighter than the darker shades we were seeing last month and it really brightens up her whole look. Yay Jess, keep it UP!!

Cle de Peau Concealer

Also, FINALLY picked up a tube of the very famous Cle de Peau Concealer that EVERYBODY raves about. InStyle has featured it every year in their annual 'Best Beauty Buys'. It is as amazing as everyone says. LOVE it.

The consistency is lovely, it goes on creamy and dries matte, has wonderful staying power and very true colors. The best part: the packaging. It has what has become my favourite case ever, it is so old-world glamour, reminds me of 1920's Hollywood, it has a nice weight to it, not cheap and flimsy plastic and a very austere dark blue color with accents of gold to give it light and glamour!!! Who would thought concealer could bring such joy!!

At Bergdorf Goodman CdP is having a Spa/Facial event May 3rd and 4th, this is a great way to get an in depth look at what products you should be using on your skin. Call Hilda (that's right just like Betty's sister on "Ugly Betty") at (212) 872.2726 if you are interested in setting up an appointment.

Available at Bergdorf Goodman.

The Perfect Pale Lip courtesy of Edward Bess!

Popped into Bergdorf Goodman yesterday to browse the cosmetic section for new Spring picks.

Stopped to chat with Edward Bess about his lipstick line and accidentally discovered the perfect formula to create the Pale Lip look that I wrote about last week.

I used 'Nude Lotus', one of his amazing lipsticks, as a base and then topped that off with 'Desert Glow' one of five 'Deep Shine Lip Glosses' he sells.

As I mentioned when I first wrote about Edward Bess, these lip products smell SOOOO good. They are scented with wild Fig. And they really are wonderfully moisturizing. Finished product: gorgeous.

Have to run out, but will post a picture of the lip color later in the evening...(Done: see pic above, sorry for the glare!)

Oh and a quick note, a lipstick from the Edward Bess line will be featured in the July 2007 issue of InStyle Magazine...according to Bess, it is most likely 'Natural Seduction', which is a Taupe-y shade that I tried last night, so beautiful, perfect with the 'Nude Lotus' on top....anyway the theme being 'sophisticated' in the style of Dita Von Teese. Ummm, sounds intriguing.

Edward Bess Lipstick Line

I had the good fortune to chat with Edward Bess Saturday evening at BG's beauty event. Besides being a total cutie-patootie, he is one smart cookie. Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, a city I particularly love (they understand feminine there). He is immaculate and totally charming in that wonderful southern way, but don't think his cute factor deters at all from his business sense. At the age of 21, he has a wonderfully solid line that is well thought out and of thorough quality. Future plans include mascara, eye shadows and bronzer's.

The lipstick line is chock full of beautiful and naturally flattering colors that are so soft and moisturizing. The line contains fifteen lip products, five high-sheen lip glosses and ten lipsticks. Previously only sold as a set, colors are now available individually. The lip products are lightly scented with wild fig, lovely! The lipstick contains vitamins A and E to act as antioxidants in addition to silicon to maintain a smooth finish. The lip gloss incorporates ginkgo biloba extract and polymers to provide anti-aging benefits while adding shine.

His bit of counter space is sort of wedged in between the Prescriptives and Shiseido counter. Do visit.

Bess is featured in this month's Teen Vogue. Check it out.

Available exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman or on his website.

BG...the restaurant

So just returned from an evening at BG, picked up a beautiful red lipstick from Chanel, 'Passion' and then had dinner at BG--my favorite restaurant in the city!!! It has such romantic views...Central Park, 5th avenue, the Plaza and all from the 7th floor...the decor is very deco 1920's and the atmosphere is wonderful....it just makes you feel a part of old New York...but in a very hip way!! I'm sort of a bore I always get exactly the same thing when I go, which is the fantastic 'steak au poivre' and their chocolate souffle cake for dessert. A perfect night!

I would also suggest having afternoon tea there. Its the perfect interlude from shopping.

Passion is from Chanel's new lipstick line; 'rouge allure'. It has that uber-cool gold tube with the tap-touch opening style. So sexy. The perfect red.

Oh forgot to mention, Lucy Liu was also partaking in BG's gift card event, seen at the ShuUemura counter...She is as beautiful in person as in movies. Perfect skin.

DiorShow Mascara

When I find something that works I have to endorse it. Now I'm actually not a big mascara girl, mostly because it all seems to look like you are wearing mascara, flaking, clumping etc. I had heard some very good raves on DiorShow, and decided to try it after trying everything else. Guess what? Its as good as they say. I got it in the waterproof formula in 'Chestnut' (for an even more natural look). It went on amazing. No goopiness, no flaking, my lashes look better but totally natural. Longer, fuller but like they are my natural lashes. I'm won.

Available at Sephora or any fine department store.
