Oscar De La Renta Fall Collection: Available Now at Bergdorf Goodman!

The Oscar De La Renta Fall 2007 Trunk show has arrived at BG.
My favorite picks below. This is a fantastic collection.
It is SO SO beautiful.
Enjoy.

Pleated Sleeveless Dress
OMG. This is stunning. 100% silk, with pockets...Eeeee! Those components add up to practical and comfort too!

Enamel Beaded Embellished Dress
You have to see this up close to fully appreciate it.

Silk Blouse and Wool Trousers
The high waist trouser trend that I covered last month, so fresh and feminine.

Pleated Ruffle top and Silk Twill Pants.
This is actually from SS07, but I couldn't resist. Stunning details. Look: navy and black again!

Drop-Waist Dress
With Bishops sleeves, this dress has the most Amazing symmetry.

Double-Faced Coat
Love this cut in a coat. I have several vintage ones that I have collected with mink collars!

Lacquered Jacket and Flannel Pant
Love the skinny pant too!! Cigarette silhouettes are always flattering and sexy.

Basketweave Dress
Capped Sleeves and a front pleat, what more could a girl want?

Printed Wedge Slingback
Love the patent, love the half-bow.

Straw and Patent Slingbacks
These are just so cool!

Satin Clutch
Also comes in a Nude color. Perfect complement to most of these outfits. Adore the crystal hardware.

Gilded Suede Clutch
This is to die for. Perfect with a dress or jeans, dress it up or down. Love, love , love the gold accents (I know, I am always referencing the gold!!)

i totally agree w/u, some of the prices are obscene. my point with these pieces is more about fashion as inspiration...translation into your life-putting together wardrobe choices, guidance in terms of being able to scope out great pieces (ie learning about cuts, draping) when you are looking at vintage.

and of course i do believe in investment pieces, a few a year if your budget permits (or maybe just one that you save up for)...things you will have forever...and pass down (or re-sell b/c they hold their value because they are quality pieces to begin with.

i know, i know. it is inspirational from both a stylistic and artistic perspective... and if i had it, i would totally splurge. but that's almost beyond the bag fund for me right now. and you know how i feel about the bags.

reminds me of the satc episode where carrie are aleksandr talk about poetry and fashion and he ends us getting the that de la renta dress, they miss the opera and end up at mcdonalds. you know the one. season six. de la renta is swoon-worthy.

yes I rem the episode. AP refers to ODLR as 'Oscar'...Poetry is too romantic for her and the McDonalds on the Upper West Side is the grounding point...for makign things 'real'.

yes 'Oscar' is certainly fab, his designs are so 'on'. Totally classic, classy and sexy.
